Just as the Ka’hosadi people were not known amongst themselves as “Shasta,” they of course did not call their sacred mountain “Mount Shasta,” but rather “Waiika” (“why-EE-kuh”), sometimes spelled Wyeka.
Waiika is the spot to relax after a day of exploration. Warmly textured walls with richly colored custom paintings offer a warm a cozy glow to those snowy wintery nights. In the summer, open the windows to allow in the cool mountain air and scents of Red pine, Douglas fir, and sugar pine. Waiika provides parents the opportunity to enjoy some adult time while the kids lounge watching their favorite movie in the next room over.
